Snow Day Information

All Schools are open at this time.

Even though it may have snowed the previous evening, and weather forecasts may be calling for severe weather, the decision to call off school is not made until approximately 5:30 AM after a careful analysis of current road and weather conditions.

The TTUSD provides this web page as an additional avenue for parents and students to obtain "snow day" information. To receive information via a recorded telephone message, call 582-2510 or 581-7020.

Important Notice

If it is a snow day and schools will be closed or if a decision is made to hold school on a snowy day, every attempt to update this site by 5:30 a.m will be made. However, technical difficulties with Internet access or at the website as well as electrical outages or phone line problems could result in this site not reflecting accurate information.

In the event of a snow storm, the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District may opt for a late start.
If so, the following will apply:
All schools will be in session with a delayed start of 2 hours.
All bus stop pickups will be delayed by 2 hours.
All schools will dismiss at regular time.

Be aware that the Lake Tahoe Unified School District on the south shore of Lake Tahoe may be closed while the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District may be in session. Because of the similarity in school district names, confusion may occur.
Please refer to the list of radio and TV stations for possible backup.

Even though the following TV and radio stations are notified when schools are closed, the school district cannot guarantee when, or if, school closure notification will be broadcast, nor can we guarantee its accuracy.
